So you've seen some of the site and you'd still like to become a VOICEbook partner? Great - let's look at one way you could do that.

Send your recordings to the world in VOICEbook form. Are you a writer or a musician who wants a novel way of getting publicity? Or just a VOICEbook enthusiast who would like to play an active part in the international VOICEbook community? This is what to do:

Send two files to the following address: anthony@voicebook.com, with the following Object: VOICEbook trial.

The first file should be a ZIP file containing one or more audio files in one of the VOICEbook languages (Spanish, English, German, Italian and French) in any format which you have recorded yourself. The sound must be at least 44 Khz, mono, 16 bit.

The second file should be an exact transcription of the recording, along with any notes you want to write which would help us to understand anything that may not be immediately clear (lyrics in a song, for example).

The VOICEbook editorial committee will decide whether or not they wish to use the material - if it interesting and original, and well-recorded, the answer will probably be "Yes". It will help if there is more than one voice on the recording and if the voices themselves sound good technically and artistically.

If the editorial committee wishes to publish your material in VOICEbook form, we will email you to ask you to sign full non-exclusive rights to use the sound for VOICEbooks. You will retain the overall copyright, so you can obtain a contract with a record company for example, but you allow us to use the recording as we wish in VOICEbook form. 

The VOICEbook will be produced and form part of the growing VOICEbook catalog

After publication, we will pay the author (that's you) 0.30 Euros for each download of your VOICEbook. So, every three months, if your recording is really hot, you can lie back and enjoy the sound of the postman delivering your enormous cheque from us here at voicebook.com. Get your microphones ready now!

Policy statement: We provide a non-exclusive agreement, because we believe that voicebook.com should provide an opportunity for artists. It should not be a cage. All artists can take advantage of the opportunities that voicebook.com offers them in terms of advertising, promoting and selling their music and/or spoken word files and can still profit from any other commercial opportunities that come their way. It should be clear from this statement that voicebook.com is NOT a record company, but a platform for promoting and distributing sound. As a platform it leaves behind the old logic of an exclusive relationship between artist and record label, and instead provides exciting new opportunities for both parties.
